COVID-19 Mobile Vaccination Service
COVID-19 Mobile Vaccination Service
Waikato DHB and our hardworking providers are on the road bringing vaccinations to you. No need to book unless specified - just check the schedule below and drop in. Vaccinations are free, safe and the best way to protect your whānau, your community and yourself.
If you just want to come for a chat, that's all good too. No pressure to be vaccinated - our mobile health experts are also there to help with your pātai.
You can also be vaccinated at a range of other locations across Waikato, including GPs and pharmacies. See Healthpoint for those options.
Some of our mobile vaccination clinics are offering FREE flu vaccinations for those who are eligible. Look out for the # beside the vaccination centre.
COVID-19 vaccination and children
Parents and caregivers in the Waikato have the opportunity to protect their children aged 5 to 11 against COVID-19 with the child version of the Pfizer vaccine. Young people aged 12 to 15 can get vaccinated now.
The COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years is a child specific vaccine. It's different to the adult version. It's only one third of the dose.
In the Waikato there will be a variety of places, including GPs, pharmacies and our Waikato DHB vaccination centres offering the child specific vaccine. Some of our mobile sites are offering vaccines for 5-11 years - look out for the ★ beside the vaccination centre.
Booster doses
Boosters for 16 and 17-year-olds can be given 6 months after a primary two-dose vaccination course, with a gap of three months after recovering from a COVID-19 infection.
If you’re 18 and over, get your booster dose three months after your last dose. The booster reduces the severity of illness if you get Omicron. It means you’re much less likely to end up in hospital than if you don’t have a booster.
Vaccination sites are taking walk-ins - check first or be prepared to wait as demand is high and priority is given to those who have a booked appointment.
